The Sweet Smell of Roses in Bon Air Park

Bon Air Memorial Rose Garden in Arlington Virginia is a great place to go
One of my favorite things to do on a late afternoon in mid-July must be visiting Bon Air Park and Memorial Rose Garden in Arlington, Virginia. So much so that it has become almost an annual pilgrimage for me and my wife. That's where we spent the latter part of the day this past Sunday.

Did someone leave their hat on the sign post? More on that later.
As soon as you arrive at the garden, you're greeted with the fragrant aroma of the award-winning roses in full-bloom at this beautiful park run by Arlington County Parks & Recreation Department. Located on Wilson Boulevard just west of the hustle and bustle and high-rise condos of Ballston, Bon Air Park is a great getaway oasis for couples, families, and anyone needing some serenity.
Here's some photos I took of the Bon Air Rose Garden in full bloom:

Adjacent to the Rose Garden are tennis courts, expansive fields where people picnic, play soccer, kids run around, fathers set up hammocks, a biking and hiking trail, and paths leading to other Arlington parks and neighborhoods.

Some more flowers (roses and some other types):

You never know who else you might find in Bon Air park:

Never forget the first rule of the Rose Garden:

Whose hat was that anyways?

The closest Arlington neighborhoods to Bon Air Park include Bluemont, Dominion Hills, and a bit further down the street the Ballston area.
Want to enjoy an afternoon in the park? Why not find a home in the vicinity?
